Thrown Away with the Trash

"Think occasionally of the suffering of which you spare yourself the sight." Albert Schweitzer

Baby ducks who didn't make it at a foie gras facility are thrown away with the trash. Foie gras is produced by forcing a long metal pipe down the throats of ducks and geese in order to force-feed them massive amounts of grain, resulting in their livers swelling to up to 10 times their normal size. Discarded cats and dogs after being euthanized at a shelter. Those who buy from breeders or pet shops take away any chance that shelter animals have at a forever home. Photo credit: Flying Fur

Pig dead pile. "Dead piles" are a constant presence on factory farms. Hundreds of thousands of farm animals succumb to the stress of violent mutilations, intensive confinement and massive amounts of antibiotics. Photo credit: PETA

Day-old chicks in a dumpster. Male chicks born to egg producing hens are discarded the same day they are born as cheaply as possible- tossed into a plastic bag to suffocate, ground up alive or simply thrown away. Photo credit: Farm Sanctuary

The aftermath of surgical experimentation performed on rabbits. After being tortured for cosmetic and chemical testing, rabbits are then discarded like trash, sometimes while still alive. Photo credit: All Creatures

We each have the power to make a difference in the lives of animals. Do something! Make the connection! End the suffering!
